Lemon Cardamom Moroccan Meatballs

I’ve really been craving some flavorful fresh Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisine, and it was about time I’d made these divine Lemon Cardamom Moroccan Meatballs.  I simply swapped out the breadcrumbs from the original recipe for some LSA mix that’s hugely popular with the health foodies here in Australia. It’s a mix of ground Linseed, Sunflower Seeds, and Almonds. It’s loaded with nutrients and makes a great binder in cooking, or substitute for flours in baked goods. And for all those back home in Read more […]

Talk about long-time-no-see! My sincerest apologies for having neglected my blog for the past few months. I knew I wouldn’t be updating nearly as frequently, but I didn’t realize just how jam-packed my new unemployed life would be, in the best way possible, of course. I have been back in the states for a month now shuffling from one place to another for weddings, family visits, friend catch-ups, and I just finished cooking for a two-week retreat at the wonderful Insight Retreat Center in Santa Cruz.  My brother sent me the Practical Paleo cookbook months ago, from which I made her delicious herb salts and yummy sauteed red cabbage. But when he sent the book, my brother specifically mentioned some burgers with sweet potato pancake buns, which sounded crazy good! But for some reason, it has taken me THIS long to get around to making them. I’m telling you so you don’t make that same mistake. Make these IMMEDIATELY. You will be so happy that you did. The sweet potato pancakes are incredible Read more […]

Bobotie--South African Paleo Meatloaf

Bobotie — South African Meatloaf

My Cajun Paleo Meatloaf reminded me how much I love meatloaf! It makes the perfect weekday leftovers, and is so easy to take for a hearty home-cooked lunch at the office. But this isn’t just any ordinary meatloaf, it’s Bobotie! Which is South African meatloaf. I’m not exactly sure where it stems from, but I have had a long-standing obsession with South Africa. They’ve got beautiful beaches, great wines, and culture like I’ve never experienced. I can’t wait until the day I visit and taste their Read more […]

The food in Asia was completely amazing, but after three weeks, all I wanted was some good old fashioned American comfort food! I arrived back in LA late Saturday night, and still suffering from jetlag, I was up at 5:30am Sunday planning my first cooking endeavor after 3 weeks of being away from the kitchen. I raced off to the grocery store and it was like Sprouts had anticipated my homecoming with their organic 100%grass-fed beef on sale. How perfect! I immediately set out making this delicious Read more […]
